Dr Sophie Pitt has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology and a Doctorate in Applied Educational and Child Psychology and is a Clinical Psychologist in Australia.
Sophie is a child and adolescent psychologist who specialises in working with young people up to age 25 and their families although, Sophie is happy to work with clients of all ages.
Sophie has been working as a psychologist for almost a decade, and has worked with young people for 14 years. She brings with her a wealth of experience supporting children, adolescents and their families.
Sophie has worked in a variety of settings including schools, in-patient psychiatric hospitals, clinics and homes.
In terms of therapy, Sophie’s preferred modality is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy but she uses an eclectic mix of therapeutic approaches depending on what suits the individual needs of the client e.g Solution-Focused therapy, CBT and Personal Construct Psychology.
Sophie also conducts the following assessments:
- Cognitive assessments
- Learning and achievement assessments
- ASD assessments
- ADHD and assessments of social and emotional needs.
Sophie takes a balanced approach to all of her assessments, exploring the client’s individual strengths and needs.
Sophie was born in England and moved to the Gold Coast this year with her husband and 3 children. In her down time, she enjoys yoga running and swimming. She also loves animals and reading and is a very calm and friendly person.
